Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is an ingredient extracted from Chinese green tea. It is the main active and water-soluble component of green tea and the highest content of catechin, accounting for 9% of the green weight of green tea. -13%, because of its special stereochemical structure, EGCG has a very strong antioxidant activity and plays an important role in anti-cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
